BodySoul Workshops

With roots deep in the psychology of C. G. Jung, BodySoul Rhythms® holds that psyche and soma are one, inseparable, and must be worked on together.

The work actively supports an individual’s process of developing toward consciousness, held within the sacred group temenos, by enabling a descent into the unconscious and the body. The emerging consciousness balances the positive feminine in our bodies with the positive masculine in our creative pursuits.

The BodySoul approach consists in working dream and imagery together with body and voice in a powerful way, while honoring the uniqueness of each individual, allowing a unique integration of mind and body, soul and spirit to emerge.

The roots of this work grew out of a deep respect for dreams and for the great wisdom of the body. We have come to trust – through the knowing in our own bodies, hearts, souls and minds – the psyche/soma connection and experience the amazing dance that is possible between the creative masculine and the conscious feminine.

MONTHLY BODYSOUL GROUP

The BodySoul Community Group follows Marion Woodman’s BodySoul Method. The sessions include deep relaxation and movement, bringing movement to image/art and dream images in the body.

BodySoul work holds that the psyche and soma are inseparable; therefore, body and mind are explored together in the service of healing and growth. BodySoul programmes involve listening to the body and paying attention to unfolding dreams. In this way, guided by the Self, space is provided for the unconscious to emerge through movement, voice-work, painting, journaling, myth and mask making.

BodySoul teaching has a strong base in the psychology of C.G.Jung, as developed by Jungian analyst Marion Woodman, dance educator Mary Hamilton and voice coach Ann Skinner. Some current BodySoul programmes are explicitly informed by attachment theory and emerging research from the field of neuroscience.

How the Monthly Workshops work

As part of my private practice I run BodySoul groups on a monthly basis attended by people who feel the need for resource in mind and body, and to enhance them in their personal and working lives. The group is open to anyone who is curious about self reflection and self development.
