According to Dr. Peter Levine, the Somatic Experiencing® method is a body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma and other stress disorders. It is the life’s work of Dr. Peter A. Levine, resulting from his multidisciplinary study of stress physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics, together with over 45 years of successful clinical application. The SE approach releases traumatic shock, which is key to transforming PTSD and the wounds of emotional and early developmental attachment trauma.
SOMATIC EXPERIENCE WORK
I provide individual S.E. sessions, meeting the client at the stage they are at and supporting them to find their own resource for their own particular nervous system. I use nature as a support to bring ease to a client’s nervous system. Appointment times can be arranged via our contact page.
How the Appointments work
We meet in a tranquil and comfortable environment for one hour. You will be asked what you want to explore in your session. This process will encourage a deep relaxation within your body and mind which will help to bring your nervous system back into a regulated state.
